Message: to express feelings about the boundaries that separate self from fans, self from idol, self from war.
Barricade: is a dividing line between two things. In the idol world, it’s the physical barrier in the first row during a concert. It separates the stage from the audience. You from ARMY. In war, it’s the trench between life and death.
Once you enlist, you become ARMY. And now it’s just you and the barricade.
Performance: RM rap, ARMY vocal
** Jung Kook about his frustration regarding the lyrics he writes, stating that it’s for ARMY rather than himself. It might be therapeutic for him if you involve him in writing the lyrics from the idol perspective. That side of the barricade.
Introduction suggestions:
Begin the song just like “George Washington speech” from the play Hamilton:
You should repeat one of your LYS speeches from the past, while the ARMY sings to the same words at the same time. Please study this video starting at 2:56 minutes. That “RM speech synchronized with a vocal melody” is the style that would really rock the world for this song.
Now that you’ve seen the album version, please view this live performance because it represents the vibe of what I’m trying to do with our song. Notice (at 3:58 mins) how they both blend and physically switch places between front and back of the stage. That’s the ARMY-RM vibe I want to introduce with
LYRICS TIME
I thought it would be so creative if you gave a shout out to all the solo albums:
Like Hobi says: yeah we need a future
Will this this future be okay?
Okay okay okay?
Okay, so we gave it our best shot
This shot glass of tears
Because when I am with you there is no one else
But I get a feeling I can’t get close enough to you.
It’s this this barricade. Fcking concerts. This barricade.
Let me get lost in your light. Then to notice the barricade that cages you from me.
Don’t save me.
Barricade was a lyric before it became war. It was a concert before it became the dividing line between us and the enemy.
It’s this barricade. It cages me too. Saves me. I need you to save me.
So I can come back Home.
Like crazy, crazy for myself.
It’s you that’s Home.
I am writing and publishing this song as I continue to think of ideas.
